English and stuff.

Well, my parents have cracked down, and now I need to work harder at school. Basically, I've been working hard in everything other than English, because it seems no matter how hard I try, I still get a very low mark. We're doing Shakespeare now, so it'll be extra hard for me to concentrate and put in a good effort. Not a big Shakespeare fan. I'm going to try harder though, especially on my ACE paragraphs, because I struggle with the whole structure of them.
Enough about English. I'm starting on the Christmas tree farm soon. Probably just for December, but it'll help my money situation for Christmas shopping. Maybe I can work on their website some more, it saves me a lot of rainy work. Ten dollars an hour to do easy website stuff? Any day.

Update

So a lot has been happening, and I haven't posted much in here. I guess I can't really give that as an excuse when I hardly go on FaceBook less than an hour every day. I guess I'm just not very motivated to post much. When I first made my blog, quite a few people would check it daily, but it's dwindled down to somewhere between 1 and 4 per day. (Hooray for Google Analytics)
I guess when I first made this, I was constantly updating it, but by now I've kind of stopped, and when I do write anything, it's not very interesting. Oh well, that's life.
I beat Bloons Tower Defence 2 on easy, that was a major accomplishment. I also got 92% on a Biology test. A mark with which I am quite proud.
In Physics, we're just starting a project where you bring materials, and you get 4 balloons, and you have to make a car powered by the balloons, and there are prizes for farthest, fastest, etc.
Yesterday, November 10th, was my friend Mike's birthday, and some friends were celebrating across the street from me. Now at first you would think 'oh that's nice, I hope you had fun, Josh', BUT it was also another friend's birthday party, which I said I would go to before I even heard about Mike's party. I went to Mike's for about half an hour before I left for Jenn's, but I felt kind of bad for coming for such a short time.
James isn't allowed to say 'Sick burn' for a week, and Caitlyn isn't allowed to say 'By the way' or 'Pretty sure', and by the way, I'm pretty sure they always say that, and one of them is going to slip. Sick burn!
And on a side note, I'm trying to incorporate a bit of italics into my posts, because I always like when I read other people's blogs, and there are italics. It brings out the emphasis or whatever. Helpful for understanding, as well as more fun to read. Or perhaps the topic of the blog is more interesting than my life.

Haircut again!

I got a haircut again. It was about time. In fact, it was about time a few months ago. This time I actually went to a barber instead of getting my mom to shave it like last time. It looks pretty snazzy if I do say so myself.

Difficult

This year is really difficult, school-wise. I've been struggling along with most of my courses, maintaining fairly high marks. English, I'm not doing well in at all, but almost nobody in my class is doing well. It's a teacher fresh out of TOC-ing, so she expects way too much from everyone. I did an in-class essay, the exact same length as someone else, except mine was single-spaced and their's was double-spaced. Their entire essay was worse than mine, and was marked lower on everything except length. I got 8/24 and he got 10/24. If mine had been long enough, it probably would have been at least 16-20. I simply do not understand. Oh well, so long as I get a B in English 12, Math 12, Physics 12, and Biology 12, I can be a radiologist. I'm so screwed for post-secondary though. I don't do the whole working hard thing.

I wish I was rich

It would be nice to be rich, because I would be able to buy a Wii or xBox 360. I have been looking around to buy somebody's old xBox or a PS2, but almost nobody has upgraded to a PS3, and the 360 doesn't play original xBox games. It would be nice to have one of those systems because there are so many more good games for them, and not many stores stock new GameCube games. I shouldn't have gotten a GameCube. Oh well. C'est la vie.

School has officially started

Not only has school officially started, but so has homework. Don't expect many posts, last year was fairly lax homework-wise, but this year looks like I'm not going to have much time for blogging. I'll try sneak in some blogging between homework and sleep as much as I can.
Basically, I can grow up to work at McDonalds for the rest of my life, or I can work hard in grades 11 and 12, then take a 2-year course in BCIT and be a radiologist. The requirements are getting at least a B in Math 12, Biology 12, Physics 12, and English 12.
This year, I have Math 12, Psychology 11, Physics 11, French 11, PE 11, English 11, Socials 11, and Biology 11.
Fairly heavy courseload, especially with it being linear, I sometimes get homework from 6 different classes within 2 days. Psychology and PE are a nice break though.
Unfortunately, my math teacher isn't very good, so I plan on going to another teacher's tutorials, and I hope I get a B overall...I don't exactly want to take Math 12 twice.

New Cell!

As most of you know, about a week ago I fell off my dirtbike, breaking my cell phone that was in my pocket. Anyways, I ordered a new one, and it arrived yesterday! Its picture on the rogers site looks so innocent, but when I got it, I realized how puny it is. Unfortuately , all my contacts were saved to my old phone's memory, as opposed to the sim card. Dang. I also lose my $5 game, and $3 ringtone. I might call Rogers and say my phone broke and I bought a new one, and I want to get my old game and ringtone back, because I only had them for a couple months.

On another note, school's starting again, so I'll probably have some random stuff to blog about. I might start blogging about what I think on a subject, rather than just talking about stuff I have done, or plan to do, or whatever. For example, American politics. My thoughts? None. I know nothing about American politics, and I don't want to know anything about it. Graduated License system? I hate it. I hope Gordon Campbell goes drunk driving again, but doesn't live to make more laws after. I don't get how he can be arrested for drunk driving, then almost instantly go and say that teenaged/new drivers are the most dangerous drivers, or whatever.

Facebook - Compare People

There's an application on Facebook where it asks a random question about two random people, like this:
Then you click on either the picture, or the name, and it counts that you voted for that person, and for the other person, it counts that they came up, and you voted for the other person. Or if neither person fits the description, or both people are equal, then you can skip it and it won't count as anything. Anyways, so I was looking around the top people in my school for things, and I came across this...

Yep, apparently I have the prettiest eyes in my school. That's kind of interesting.

You can probably tell I'm running out of things to put in my blog, can't you?

School (And #50 post!)

Yeah, school's almost back. I guess I had a fun summer. I managed to avoid work quite a bit, which allowed for a lot of fun days.
Usually, someone with a blog would post pictures of stuff they did during the summer, but just to stick it to the man, I won't. Go on facebook, and look at pictures of me. Everyone else uploaded pictures of what I did, so that's good enough.
Speaking of Facebook, I can't wait until I finally get myself a digital camera, because I will finally be able to take my own pictures with my own camera, instead of taking my dad's, and being so afraid of scratching it etc. I like doing random things, so it helps having a camera. Actually, I will post a picture. This picture is pretty awesome, and captures the essense of enjoying doing random things. It's not on Facebook, so you should feel pretty special.

Crimp!

http://hs.facebook.com/album.php?aid=4063&l=40902&id=516308965
That's right, Not only did Liz crimp my hair, but I also posed for model shots! And that's not all! I also uploaded the pictures to facebook, and you can all view them, even if you dont have a facebook account! Enjoy :)

Fireworks

I went to the fireworks last night, which was really fun. We sat on a log, really far away, so my butt hurt, and I couldn't see the fireworks all that well, but I still had a good time.
Caitlin got some pictures on one of those disposable cameras, so I'll post them whenever I get them. She's going to get the pictures developed and put on a CD, so yeah. Remind me to bug her until she does it :)

Collage

I made a little collage in memory of all my fun times in iVisit.Either I was very secure in my manhood, or I had no pride at all. I think I had no pride.
(the two with the IGA bag, and the one of the guy in the red shirt with a blue background are all AJ Mauger)

Hairspray

So I saw Hairspray last night. It was fairly interesting, but unfortunately I didn't know any of the words so I had to just dance in my seat. My friends pretended not to know me, haha
I sang along with the 'GOOD MORNING BAAAALTIMOOOOOOORE' parts though :)
Oh, and I shrieked any time there was anything moderately scary/suggestive which happened quite a bit.

I feel loved

Thanks, Nadia :)

Summer Movies :D

This summer, I've gone to see a few movies, and I plan to see some more.
So far, I've seen Ratatouille and Transformers. I plan to see Hairspray, Bourne Ultimatum, Hot Rod, and Mr. Bean's Holiday. Possibly more, I haven't really looked at what all will be coming out.

Crazy dreams.

Last night I had the strangest dream. I was with a bunch of people, I don't remember who, but anyways, we were all in Korea, and we were walking around, and I was being all tour-guide-ish, and it was kind of funny because I totally remembered everything, including a kid named Jason. We met him once, while we were kicking a soccer ball around, and he spoke English, and apparently lived in America for 2 years. And then we went to his house for a bit, then about a week later we came by and visited him, and he lived in a big group of apartments, and he was amazed we remembered where he lived :P
And I still remembered.
Anyways, so we were just walking down the street, and I pointed to my apartment and said 'thats where I lived!' then we bought some little dough-ball things, and walked over to the apartment. We went into the building, and up the elevator, and into the room...and I still had the cardkey or whatever, and we just sat there watching TV until I woke up.

Good DS Games

I need some ideas for some really fun DS games. I currently have Lost in Blue, Pokemon Diamond, Final Fantasy III, Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, Pheonix Wright, Hotel Dusk, Elite Beat Agents, Chokobo Tales, and a couple others I haven't played yet.
Send me an e-mail or post a comment with your ideas!

Home alone!-ish

So my parents are gone in Calgary for my dad's cousin's wedding, and they're coming back Sunday afternoon. 11:30 curfew, and no friends over. Not too bad I suppose. It' s only for a couple nights. And I'll have to fend for myself for means...I'll eat a lot of Stagg chili and KD. That stuff rules.

Room Cleanup

These are a bunch of knives...if you didn't know that, you're retarded. And there's also a jet lighter at the bottom. Nothing really that interesting about this picture.
I found this when I was cleaning my room...I got it when I was about maybe 7, and my best friend moved to Campbell River.
Let's play a guessing game...who received the exact same card 3 years in a row from someone? Me! xD
I'm styling the sharktooth necklace I found in the bottom of my drawer haha :P It's not that bad.
Now this is style.
These are my Korean Coke cans. Yay?
It's my nice little corner-piece. I picked it up at the lumberjack show on Grouse mountain.
Crazy Frog toy, GBA SP, Nail-Clippers, Korean Wedding Ducks, Glasses, and Nintendo DS.
As usual, Bob is keeping watch. Who needs a guard dog when you can have Bob?
These are two Korean thingies. Not that interesting.
Whoah, Josh made his bed! :O
Speakers, Phone, and iPod.
It's what Alice Fredo looks like after she came back to me at the concert. <3
Work gloves in my hat that I wear to work...quite the formal attire, eh? And also a couple toques and a few belts.
Autographed Hawk Nelson kazoo :D There are a few more autographs, one on the bottom and one on the other side I think.

Nintendo DS

The other day, I was at school, and it was a normal day. Then a friend of mine asked if I wanted to buy his DS for $75. I bought it. It's the old kind of DS...he was upgrading to a DS Lite. Anyways, so I didn't have any games for it...so my friend's cousin was going to Crystal Mall anyways, so he got me an R4 and a 2gig micro sd card. It cost me $85. So $75 + $85 = $160. that's less than buying a new DS and one single game. The R4 can have anything on it, I'll put on MSN, maybe a couple other things...it will be great :D
I can also put on any games for any nintendo handheld :D
I'll put pictures on when I get it.

I'm freaking insane

Bwee-hee-hee. And it's not doctored xD

Cookies

I made mini chocolate chip cookies. Why mini? Because all of my friends always want one, and this way, I can give them half a cookie, and they still think they're getting a whole one. Figuratively. I would give them a whole cookie, but it's half the size.

It's time!

It's time for me to post my face. These are both from Pitt Day. Note the second t, nimwit. That's you, AJ
anyways, I win. that's 2 pictures. count them.

It took all 5 months in Korea to master this Asian pose.

don't you just get the urge to throw me a tennis ball or something? AJ seemed to get the urge to throw M&M's.

6:00

Okay, so generally I wake up for school at 7:00, and can leave by about 8:00. This morning, however, I saw my alarm clock, and thought it said 7:03, and I thought 'why didn't my cell phone alarm wake me?' Anyways, I got up, showered, then was eating breakfast while on the computer...and I noticed it was 6 freaking 30. That means it was 6:03 this morning, not 7:03. I turned off my alarm and cursed the heavens, like Harold Crick. So I guess I'm going to be playing Gamecube or something this morning. Maybe I'll do some Twilight Princess before someone spoils the whole game for me. ;)

How long?

I wonder how long it will be before Google buys Facebook. Google buys everything. Or maybe they'll have another failed attempt at copying Facebook, like they did with YouTube. Google Video is still there, but I think there are only about 17 people who actually watch videos there.

Facebook

I told myself I would never make a facebook or myspace or nexopia or anything.
I lied to myself. I made a Facebook. It's actually not that bad...but what I definitely will never do is send emails to every freaking person on my contact list telling them to join Facebook. You can join if you want, I won't send you 100 emails a day. Ugh. Tagged is even worse. Ew.

Google Analytics

So apparently my fanbase spreads all the way to the netherlands?
I don't think that's correct...unless all those surrey people are using computers stolen from people I know...
Firefox eats every other browser for breakfast.

YC Pictures

There were these ducks at the end of the Enchanted Forest, and these candy machines with duck food, and we got some, and the ducks swarmed me when they heard the sound of the machine, and I picked one up and hand fed it. They were so cute :)
This was our group. Notice I don't have a chair.
The back bench (left to right) - Jen (matt's friend), John (matt's friend), Greg (my friend)
Middle(left to right) - Ashley (liz's friend), me, Liz
We were some of the first people to the event. You can see I am the zenith of excitement.
I'm not sure if I'm usually this giraffe-ish, but I am styling my new Hawk Nelson shirt, and so is Greg
This was the drippiest donair I have ever had. It was practically donair soup or something.Okay, so Jen had bought a beach ball, because everyone in the floor seats hits them around if people bring them, and it's fun. Anyways, as I was blowing it up, Greg said 'It looks like Josh is kissing it!' Then John was like 'It's his girlfriend' and before that, Greg had wanted to name it Al Fredo, but instead, we named it Alice Fredo and drew lips and eyelashes on 'her'. You can kind of see a speech bubble at the bottom, it says 'Hi! I'm Josh's girlfriend'. So we all wrote our names and stuff, and I threw her into the audience. At the end, I found her on the other side of the fence between the stage and floor seats, and I asked a security guard for her. She was COMPLETELY covered with names, emails, phone numbers, nex's, etc. I'll get a picture soon, hopefully. Jen let me keep her.Alas, all good things have an end, and so did our trip, as well as our visit with Jen and John. They took the airport shuttle, and were back in Whitehorse before we even went to sleep.

If you want to see wildlife pictures, or anything else, message me. I figure, once you've seen one bear/mountain goat/moose/cariboo, you've seen 'em all.

YC Trip

I got back from Edmonton (we went to YC) last night. YC was really fun :)
We went to YC with some friends of my brother's...they flew down from the Yukon for it...there were 6 of us and 2 of them, and 7 seats in the van (we took out the very center seat to put the cooler there) so I sat on the ground on the trips between the hotel and Rexall Place. I went to the Hawk Nelson concert and after, I bought a kazoo and t-shirt from their stand thingy, and got the kazoo autographed by all of them. I was going to go to Panic Squad, but it was completely packed...which is funny because the first year I went, they were in a small room, and it wasn't even full...now they have a relatively large room, and it is completely full, with other people wanting to get in. Yeah, so in the Hawk Nelson concert, my friend and I were on the second row...a very difficult place to get when the entire concert hall is full, even the nosebleed seats in the back...We went at 1:30 to the BarlowGirl concert and sat down and waited. We got fairly good seats, probably 25th row or so...because we were half an hour early. Then, after that concert ended, we went forwards and took seats left by people who left after BarlowGirl. Maybe 6th row. Then it was Leeland. We actually enjoyed the concert, which we weren't expecting to. Then we managed to snag some 2nd row seats. It was great :)
There are a lot of pictures, but I have to go to school. I'll try post some pictures some time soon.

Cabin Pictures :)

Okay, so I took a couple pictures at the cabin...There isn't much to say, so...enjoy them.

We slept in a sort of loft, above the main part of the cabin.
There's Greg, sleeping...picture taken at about 10:30 am
Hannah, Greg's dog. She was really sick about a month ago, and seems to be doing very well now, but she is deaf.
View from the cabin's window. The marked-up trees are pines, and woodpeckers eat the pine beetles.

Tim Tams and Milo/HC

I used to think Tim Tams were one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. It turns out I didn't know half of how good they could be. Until Blunty made a video. So you take a small bite from opposite corners of the Tim Tam, then you put one of the corners into the hot chocolate, then you sip the hot chocolate through the Tim Tam (like a straw), and it is freaking delicious.
Not sure where you can buy Tim Tams, other than Australia...there was a Tim Tam stand at the Superstore in Pitt Meadows, but other than that I haven't seen them anywhere in Canada.

New phone! zomg!

Yeah, I got a cell phone the other day. Stupid Rogers, I went to put a ringtone on, and it was like "$3 for the ringtone, and a $0.75 download fee apply. Would you like to continue?" or something. That's so ridiculous. I already bought the freaking CD, I don't want to pay for a ringtone. I played the song on the computer, and recorded it with the audio recorder. That's not as good as the actual song because first of all the quality is crap, and secondly, it's only one bloody minute max! That's so ridiculous! I hate Rogers.
Btw, it's a Nokia 2610

Trampoline-ing

My wonderful trampoline skills! Your all so gealousy!

Brownies Part 2

I made another batch of brownies, using a different recipe. They are so delicious! Not as good cold as they are warm, but what brownies aren't?
I am currently working on a video right now, it'll be on YouTube pretty soon, and I'll have the video embedded in my next post, hopefully.

Butterscotch brownies

I found a recipe for butterscotch brownies. They are delicious :)
Also, I made myself some earl grey tea.
Mmmm, I love turtles tea.

Cookie Exchange!

Okay, so it isn't the most hetero-sounding thing I have ever done, but I am going to cook some cookies tonight, and then bring 5 to Math tomorrow, and the 5 people I sit near will do the same, and everyone will have one of each cookie :)
I bet you all wish you were in my Math class.

iPod - With iBoy!

I tried and tried and tried to get iPodLinux on my nano, but it just wouldn't work. I was on the forums, trying all sorts of installers, but none worked. I got on my laptop, restored the iPod so it is Windows, and then within about 4 hours, it was working...Unfortunately, Podzilla doesn't work. But then again, what is so good about Podzilla? I don't have enough space to watch videos, and I can directly link to iDoom and such from the Loader2, so Podzilla is a waste. I have been playing Pokemon Yellow a lot...I tried to play Pokemon Crystal, but Morning/Day/Night play a large part in the game, and when the game isn't running, the clock isn't running.
Speaking of Pokemon, Diamond and Pearl came out today. I wish I had a DS :(
I still have the .zip files for putting iBoy on a First Generation nano, and a complete readme, made by myself. I am so proud of myself :)
Drop me a line if you want the files. Only for Windows, unfortunately.

iPod #2

Sometime in January, I sold my 1st Gen 4GB iPod Nano to my sister for $150. This morning, someone in my auto class was selling their 1st Gen 1GB iPod Nano. It was fairly beat up, and full of rap, but who can pass up $25? I brought it home, restored factory settings, and now it is exactly like my first iPod, except a lot more full, and with less songs. I think I will put on Podzilla eventually, and put on Pokemon Red. Maybe some more. Probably not movies, due to the fact that they take up so much space and it's only one gig.

16/600

So I was on YouTube the other day, and after watching a video, I went to the main page and realized that the featured videos have been updated, so I watched one, commented, and noticed 'hey, he has comment moderation on...I wonder how many people posted before me?'
Well, I guess he didn't like how he got hundreds of emails in his inbox, asking him to allow comments...so he just decided 'let it automatically allow comments, I don't wanna allow each one'
Anyways, there are currently 600 comments. Mine is #16 :)
I feel good :)

No Pants!

That's right, kiddies. No pants. And no skirts, either you cheatin' fools! It's a lot easier for homeschoolers to do this, I think ;)

OMGWTFBBQ!

Last night I went to a barbecue with about...15 buddies...and a couple more new buddies :P
It was really fun, and we had a fire...and everyone criticized my fire making skills, but when they tried, they failed miserably. Anyone selling a bellows? I could use one. My fires would be killer.
Anyways, about the barbecue. There was a lot of food...it was Bring Your Own Meat, but lots of people brought stuff to share..which is good because I wasn't told it was BYOM :P
So Big Josh brought some cheddar smokies (which were friggen DELICIOUS), and also a steak that was round, and about 25cm in diameter. A few other people brought things, like chicken burgers, buns, shrimp, bread (which was meant to end up as garlic bread but nobody spent the time), condiments, marshmallows, pop, chips, and timbits.
PS - putting small amounts of gas on a fire is extremely fun

Choco-Choco! =]

Just in case Brandon doesn't believe that I actually cooked the cookies. Also, I am in my hawt Switchfoot hoodie <3
Nothing much else to say...I ate a lot of the cookie dough. I look stoned in that picture. Don't get any ideas, they weren't special cookies. Don'cha wish your boyfriend was a cook like me? ;)
